Barry Rosenstein

Founder and Executive Chairman

Barry founded JANA in 2001 and defined JANA's activist strategy. During his tenure at JANA, Barry has served as a director on multiple boards including Cobra Electronics Corp., Copart, Inc., Convergys Corporation, and Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc.

Before founding JANA, Barry founded a private equity fund, Sagaponack Partners. Prior to that, he founded and headed the investment banking and merchant banking groups of Genesis Merchant Group, formed and acted as managing partner of Reatta Partners and was a principal in charge of corporate takeovers with Asher B. Edelman's Plaza Securities Corporation. He began his career as an investment banker specializing in M&A with Merrill Lynch in New York.

Barry is a trustee emeritus and current member of the Investment Committee for Brown University, a trustee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the 92nd Street Y in New York City, and a founding trustee of The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music.

Barry received an MBA, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business (1984) and a BA, Phi Beta Kappa, from Lehigh University (1981).
